Tssssssssssssk…. Gulp… gulp… glug… gulp… Ahhhhhh…
- [first glass of irn-bru for 2 weeks!]
Back home after only a couple of hours sleep on the plane which I count myself lucky for. The flight was delayed by 5 and a half hours which completely wrecked our last day in the sun but at least we’ve finally made it home. Had a great time but now back to the reality of un-packing, washing and work tomorrow. My kind boss just emailed to say I have a 9AM meeting bright and early tomorrow which I have no way of preparing for or having a clue what’s being discussed – nothing like coming back to a plunge in the deep-end.
First batch of holiday photos will be up sometime tomorrow with more to follow once I get the underwater camera developed. Meanwhile here’s more football tricks to keep you occupied at work – its a long clip bit worth waiting for the end: more keepie-uppie tricks.

Well we’ve recovered a bit and done a few more exciting things this week, went swimming with dolphins which was really cool and just got back from a day sailing on a catamaran on which we visited a couple of secluded beaches and a local village. Hoping to go kayaking tomorrow and maybe cash in our free diving lesson too.
Only two whole days left on the beach and then we fly back on Sunday night. Taken a few photos but still seaching for a rude postcard to send to “the lads that are left” – you know who you are!

Would you believe it? We’ve travelled 9 thousand miles to a Caribbean paradise; all the food and rum we can eat; lots of sun, sea and sand; nice resort; nice friendly people… and since day 3 of the holiday Sian and I have been mortally ill with throat infections, headaches, coughs, colds, shivers, heat rashes, phlem (as I type this Sian is having a coughing fit), sleepless nights, sore joints and insect bites.
Despite all of that we’re still having lots of fun and still trying to do as much as we can while we’re here. Lots of lounging by the pool and on the beach, eating lots and lots of fresh food and bothering the on site GP with as many of our ailments as we can!
Sian’s going horse-riding this afternoon (“her one true love” – i don’t stand a chance of getting close) and we’re both going swimming with dolphins tomorrow (hoping for one of those dolphin related miracle cures).
Now we bid you “adieou” as we may not make it back…

I’m sooo excited!
(and I just can’t hide it)
Off tomorrow for a two week holiday in the sun – two weeks in the Dominican Republic with Sian – All Inclusive 3-4 star for less than I think we’d spend if we just took time off and slobbed in the UK. A few dodgy reviews of the place on the web (which I’m too embarrassed to share – but will post all the details and photos when I get back in two weeks time. Hoping to have lost my Scottish blue tinge and become and bronzed, toned beach bum. Just got enough time before I go to see the rugby but quite disappointed that I won’t make it to Waxy’s this year – first time since I came down here that I haven’t been there for Scotland-Ireland. Its always a very drunken affair but a lot of fun.
See you in two weeks!

Now I’ve heard of die hard fans but this Welshman really went a step too far in celebrating their glorious win over England.

Wow how the weekends fly by… went out in Richmond with folk from Sian’s work on Friday night and then spent most of Saturday shopping and pottering about in town with quick breaks to watch the rugby with very mixed emotions. Ended up in the cinema watching Oceans Twelve which was good but not as good as Oceans’ Eleven – funniest part of the night was a snotty, snooty couple getting chucked out of the cinema for sitting in the wrong seats in the wrong cinema and then getting shirty with the staff even though it was their own fault. Even before we got into the cinema they were complaining about stuff so quite nice to see them get their come-up-ance.
Sunday was pretty quiet – more shopping for the holiday, some packing and then a 6 hour marathon watching the Superbowl until 4 in the morning – had a doze during the first half but managed to stay up till the end. Very late for work this morning as a result – some things never change!
Another exciting week at work – what fun for us all!

Sorry I’ve been a bit lax in keeping this up-to-date this week and as a result the number of hits have halved, ooops!
Been off ill for a week with the flu (aka man-flu), felt like curling up into a ball last week but thanks to Lemsip and lots of TLC I’m not back at work – still not 100% but feeling better. Lots of time in bed and watching crap TV – did you know Trisha is on three different channels on a week day – including two at the same time!
Went to see the Aviator on Saturday – really good but with some bits of pointless and obvious computer graphics in them – why bother faking a plane taking off when you could just have the real plane take off?
Less than two weeks to the holiday in the Carribean, time to start packing all that sun cream!

Can this be real? Do they really manage to get this girl through the ring of the basket, shame its not a swish as she seems to crack her head off it: human basketball!
