Run London: the results are in. Your time for Tun january is 00.23.11. Congratualtions, now sit back, relax and enjoy some well-deserved R&R;
Ran in the Run London today, which was far too early for that sort of thing on a Sunday. Thanks to some modern technology firmly attached to my shoe the run was timed to the second:
(Fortunately this isn’t a smell-o-vision photo cos these stink!!)
Jill and Rob beat me across the line but not sure what their times were, Sinead was supposed to be running but retired hurt before the start with a sore back.
Otherwise a busy weekend – played pool with Matt, Sian and Linus on Friday night at 19:20, closely followed by drinks at Smiths On Smithfields (SOS) with Gloria, Jill, Anita and Summit. Sian and I headed off early to Reading on Saturday for a catch-up with Vik, Alan and Jim.
Not long till we’re off to Sri Lanka, a week and a half and counting!!!

Thanks to everyone who came bowling… the camera stayed in the bag so don’t have any photos to share with the web – just as well really. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves – I certainly did!
Still feels weird being 25 – its almost proper OLD!!

Filled out my timesheet at work today and found that I worked at least a 52.5 hour week last week…
I know in the past that I’ve worked a couple of 70 or even 80 hour weeks and I have a feeling a couple of those might be coming soon but how does that compare to other folk in other jobs? How many hours a week do you work?
Grr – just found out that I’m working this weekend too!! D’oh so much for my weekend of laziness and lie-ins…

Went out last night for the second of three birthday celebrations for me… (I know I’m very selfish…).
Went out for dinner last night with the Reading Crew (Shelly, Vik, Alan and Jim) and Sian to celebrate a quarter century and then met up with Parminder and Matt to celebrate her birthday too in the Motion Bar. Also off bowling this afternoon but didn’t want to drag them all the way from Reading twice in 24 hours…
Here are the photos from last night…

Working Saturday’s is never fun, but at least I managed to win a fiver at poker last night… Scott hosted and taught us all how to play Texas Hold ‘em – must have been beginner’s luck.
Out on Thursday to say “bon voyage” to Sigrid who is heading back to Denmark to finish her degree after 6 months in London – she’ll be missed but I’m sure we’ll see her again soon – think a trip to Copenhagen has to be on the cards later in the year. We went out for a few beers in the Blue Posts (a hidden gem – one of the last few proper pubs near Piccadily Circus). We then moved on to the Jade Garden for food before ending up in some random Belgian bar which served the best fruity beer ever – one was made from strawberries and the other tasted just like Umbongo (the now not entirely PC carton drink of yester-year).
Wednesday night was passed in Deacons with a couple of pints to catch up with Luke who was visiting and the usual crowd of lads.
Out with the Reading crew tonight to celebrate Parminder’s birthday and then off bowling tomorrow to celebrate mine – so much for a quiet and healthy January!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!! 25 years young and counting…
Went for dinner tonight with Sian to the excellent Tai Pan, then relaxed in the flat while unwrapping my presents and setting up my new video/DVD combi – a great present and just what I wanted so thanks to everyone who contributed!
Went round to Derek’s on Friday to see the wedding video – some hilarious moments but lots of good reminders of a great weekend in Dundee – had planned for an early night but wasn’t surprised that we had to take a cab home at 2am in a drunken mess. Very late start on Saturday and as a result I only managed a little DIY (finally managed to fix the kitchen lights) before going to see the Producers with Linus and Kristina. Was a bit disappointed with the film – wouldn’t recommend it. Played badminton for the first time in a couple of months on Sunday and then retired to the flat with Sunday night dread to catch up on the FA cup and to sort my life out a bit.
Highlight of the week was definately booking flights to Sri Lanka in Feb – can’t wait – its been exactly a year since I had a proper relaxing holiday so its about time. just need to find a nice quiet beach to get a tan on now
Off to the gym tonight to make up for the massive amount of food I’ve consumed over Christmas and New Year – wish me luck!

Had Monday and Tuesday off to try and recover after a hectic Christmas and New Year – was sorry not to see everyone t’up north but not surprised given I was only really there for a couple of days.
Went ice skating with Sian, Matt and Gloria on Tuesday night – all was going well until I managed to do a “banana-skin-esque” comedy fall (with my feet higher than my head) and cracked my head and neck off the nice. Hobbled off the rink with the help of one of the staff and then sat dazed and confused for a while before skating on through the pain and mild concussion… (1… 2… 3… Ahhh). Been feeling a bit rough every since – like my body is half a second behind my head – most annoying and embarrassing!
Starting to plan a trip to Sri Lanka in Feb to see the family, as I type this Ellen should be getting on a plane to come back…
Made another change to the site tonight – added an rss feed for anyone who wants to use an rss feed to montior this site.
