Went to Terminus at the Great Eastern Hotel at Liverpool Street all thanks to my new uber-boss. I’ll be doing the saem job on the same project but my reporting lines have changed and although I’d technically been working for my new boss since January this is the first time we’ve had the whole team out for a social chat. Took full advantage with a steak sandwich, chips and a cold beer – MMMmmmmm! I’d never eat there on my own credit card so nice to try it out and it was full to the brim with proper bankers and traders who obviously no longer think that lunch is for wimps!

Colombo Bomb Attack!

A suicide bomber blew herself up today not too far away from Dad’s office and the Church. I’ve spoken to Mum since and luckily they’ve confirmed that they’re both fine, but Ellen and I both had moment of panic as Mum and Dad’s flat is right next to the Naval HQ (the bomb was near the Army HQ). Looks like a (un)civil war is about to begin (if it hasn’t already)…

Two fish in a tank.

One turns to the other and says “Do you know how to drive this?”

Went up to Bracknell on Saturday to see Nev, Sam, Vik and Alan. Nev and Sam were down for the weekend as Nev was running the Reading Half Marathon. We went bowling and then went to the pub to see the Grand National results. Ended up back in the pub tonight with Matt and Linus to watch the Man U – Arsenal game.

Heading off to Scotland on Friday, I’ll be in Edinburgh for a couple of days and then heading over to Glasgow to catch up with some familiar faces before heading on to Ireland to see Mark.
