New Bike
So the DLR has been reduced to a crawl, the buses are too slow and the weather is too nice to waste so it’s time to give cycling a go.
I’ve been thinking about cycling to work but that seems like too much hassle (showering at work etc) but we’ll wait and see how much I use it.
Went for a bargain basement gumtree purchase – £50 and it was in good enough nick to cycle home after a quick stop to pump up the tires…
Wish me luck, won’t be long till I have a scrape with a bus!

So is it wrong that I spent more on stuff for the bike than on the bike, itself?
List includes:
Helmet
New inner tube – front was flat
Tire tools
Mud guard
Lock
Flashing light
Changing the wheel was a nightmare; finally managed to get the tire tread off the rim and get the new tube in – only to find that I’d put a hole in the new tube! Grr…
Took it all apart again, patched it, got it back in, pumped it up. It works!!!
The bike is now firmly in the back of the garage where it will rust unused for the next couple of years…

I know sis, it’s rubbish – have all kinds of plans to redo it and relaunch but can never seem to find the time or the energy.
Sadly I’ve slipped from 50+ hits a day to around 10… ;-(
But you are right – it’s your error not mine!!

So since you posted this, how many times have you used your new bike?

Err – non-ce, well apart from a couple of times round the block to check the new tyre I fitted.
Excuses: the weather, the heat, the cold, the rain, the sun, the effort, my laziness… the list is endless!
