About Me

Hi, my name is James Purves, I’m a Scot who has lived in a number of place including: Aberdeen (Scotland), Spaldings (Jamaica), Edinburgh (Scotland), Deans Livingston (Scotland), Dollar (Scotland), Glasgow (Scotland), Tooting – South London (England) and now in Docklands – East London (England). I’ve visited a number of countries: USA, Sri-Lanka, The Cayman Islands, Sri-Lanka(where my parents now live), Jordan (overnight), Ireland, Northern-Ireland, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, France, Greece, Holland, Germany, Tenerife, Shetland and even Wales!

I’m a Computing Science graduate from Glasgow University, Department of Computing Science in Scotland. I graduated in July 2002 with a a 4 year BSc Honours.

I’ve worked in a number of jobs including: the heady first job at Shoe Express in Stirling, Woolworths on Byres Road in Glasgow, BP-Energy in Dumbarton, and I was a summer intern at Goldman Sachs in London. I had a fantastic time in London and I made loads of friends. There are some pics from the summer available in the pics section of this site.

I started work in summer 2002 in London for Deutsche Bank and since December 2004 I’ve been working at a rival firm (unfortunately I can’t name them because they have some silly rule about that), but you can probably work it out from the rest of this site. I first moved to South London just down the road from Tooting Broadway, nice place but a bit too far from work for my liking so moved out east to scummy Stratford! Then moved through a couple of houses in Docklands before moving to the Isle of Dogs!
